The 11th International Public Markets Conference Toronto 2023
Quest AV supported the June 8-9th portion of the conference hosted by the Project for Public Spaces, and the City of Toronto was held in two of many venues throughout the city: St. James Cathedral and St. Lawrence Market Hall.
For over 35 years, the International Public Markets Conference has brought together leading public market leaders and advocates, including a broad mix of government leaders, market managers, downtown planners, grassroots organizers, local food advocates, transportation experts, health care professionals, and educators from around the world to explore the cutting edge of market practice.
St. James Cathedral was the site of the opening plenary, with delegates from all over the world taking part in meaningful discussions about the state of and importance of public markets worldwide. We set up two large projection screens to display the content of the presenters and panellists with the sublime backdrop of the cathedral’s beautiful stained-glass windows just above the stage line. We also set up display monitors along the side aisles so that delegates from the back were able to see the content as well. Our AV team ensured that the audio equipment and video equipment were seamless and received with great thanks from both the client and the venue.
The second venue we assisted with was historic St. Lawrence Hall. Here we set up a main plenary room in their beautiful ballroom with staging and lighting as well as a giant projection screen rental to engage the delegates as they took in important shorter sessions from international subject matter experts. We also set up three additional smaller breakout rooms with a simple but effective setup and had our team assist the presenters with connecting their presentations to display monitors and helping them with microphones to ensure that they could flawlessly communicate their message.
